Hello and Welcome
to Daniel Zucali`s Master Workshop for Guitar Construction and Restoration!
On these pages, you will get a glimpse of my life as a master of guitar construction. My wife Kerstin, my brother Tobias and I consistently rework and upgrade this web site, therefore it pays to have a look once in a while.
Kerstin manages this welcome page. She will keep you informed about my various projekts and workshop activities. Please enjoy!
Greetings from Austria!
Kerstin und Daniel Zucali.
Alvaro Pierri has invited Daniel to attend a morning performance by his students January 30th, 2010, where Daniel will be presenting some of his guitars. The performance will start at 11 o'clock in the Joseph Haydn-haal from the Main Building (Part A) of the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Here is also the Institute for String Instruments (Anton-von-Webern-Place 1, 1030 Vienna).

International Guitar Festival "Passauer Saiten" (Germany) Satureday, March 7th, 2009
Yvonne Zehner and Jürgen Schwenkglenks performed the opening concert on saturday evening. Both played some solos, but as a duet they were also very impressive. As always, it was very fascinating for us to hear what kind of sounds a guitarist can make with his/her instrument.
On Friday, April 3rd Daniel visited the Frankfurt Trade Fair for Music. This trip was very exhausting, like every time. Nevertheless it was an adventure, beginning with the very start of the trip. But Daniel`s trip continued even after the fair.
He travelled with is friend Wolfgang Jungwirth, and after the Frankfurt Trade Fair they met with friends who are also interested in guitars. There was naturally a lot to discuss. On Sunday they visited Daniel`s colleagues in Baiersdorf, Thomas Eichert and Armin Hanika, who are also guitar makers. On Monday, the last day of their trip, they had a long and very interesting visit in Markneukirchen.
The guitar festival in Balatonfüred was pretty enjoyable, and not as stressful as festivals usually are. It was arranged very well, and because of its familiar atmosphere, Daniel felt very good there. We had free time in the afternoons, and so our kids and I (Kerstin) had some moments with our "papa". We used this opportunity to play on Lake Balaton. In the evenings, Daniel enjoyed several concerts and was overjoyed to meet new acquaintances like Gabriel Bianco, Szilvágyi Sándor, Zoran Dukic, Giampaolo Bandini, Eötvös József and many more.
International Guitar Festival Mikulov (Czech Republic) July 5th-11th, 2009
Daniel was in Mikulov from the 7th until the 10th of July. He enjoyed it very much, and he met up some friends like Paolo Pegaro, who was also pleased to see Daniel again. This time he found time to play Daniel`s guitars.
Paolo invited Daniel to his guitar festival in Italy. Stefano Viola was also pleasantly surprised, and he wants to show his students Daniel´s guitars. I (Kerstin) think that Daniel is happy about these invitations. He will probably be in Udine and Pordenone in November of this year to exhibit his guitars and see his friends again.
2008
After 17 years of experience in the construction of instruments, I have now decided to start my own business.
The opening of the “Master Workshop for Guitar Construction - Daniel Zucali” was a great success.
My
invitation met with a large response. The three wonderful concerts of
well-known guitarists truly gave the opening a special touch.
Between 150
and 200 people interested in music, who partly had to cover distances of up to
600km, did not miss this one-time chance and got to know firsthand how a guitar is literally
constructed; the workshop-concerts were especially met with great enthusiasm. Three well-known
musicians revealed what makes a Zucali guitar and all were very
impressed.
The morning performance was carried out by Wolfgang Jungwirth (Austria), lecturer at the Bruckner Private University Linz. The guests experienced an exciting tour into the history of guitar, illustrated impressively by selected pieces.
The afternoon was arranged by Christian Haimel (Austria), winner of many international competitions, with a classical concert at the highest stage. His interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach (amongst others) carried away the audience into a wonderful world of deligthful sounds.
In the evening concert, Rainer Stegmann (Germany) introduced the work of Leo Brouwer. He himself is a passionate exponent of modern classical music und has just launched a new CD on Brouwer.
This opening can surely be seen as an overall success, in no small way thanks to the wonderful decor and the delicacies of pure organic quality prepared by Margarete Pieringer from Haag, Lower Austria.
Guitar Festival Mikulov (Czech Republic) – June 29th to July 3rd, 2008
It was an honour for Daniel to get to know outstanding personalities such as Leo Brouwer and José Romanillos. Some great friendships developed, like with the Trio Nahual from whom the personal dedication on the handkerchief (see image) comes.
Liechtensteiner Gitarrentage (Liechtenstein) - July 5th-8th, 2008
As expected there were a lot of interesting things to hear and see, and the press took an interest in Daniel. You can see the article at www.ligita.li/bilder/411.pdf.
Guitar Festival Nürtingen (Germany) – July 29th-31st, 2008
Besides hearing well-known guitarists from around the world Daniel was happy to hear his good friend and outstanding guitarist Christian Haimel play. After the evening concerts, interesting, informative and amusing conversations took place.

I would be glad to receive any feedback,
especially your opinion on the webpage and the texts. Please be patient
if there are any failures, it is still under construction!
Thank you!
